Wake Up Yoga
If you are an early bird (or want to be one!) then join us in this class and start your day with a little exercise. This class will help put you in a good space for the rest of your day. This class runs Tue – Fri 7.10-8am.
Morning Yoga with Jenny
Gentle relaxing yoga class suitable for all, no experience necessary. Come along and: Learn to listen to your body and integrate breath with movement, release energy blocks, build strength and flexibility, enjoy practice flow movement sequences, finish with guided deep relaxation.
Lunch time Yoga
Come during your lunch break and stretch your body with flowing yoga practice and rejuvenate your mind and brain with little bit of relaxation or meditation at the end. Wednesdays 12:15 – 1 pm & Fridays 12.45 – 1.30 pm
We start with a short opening meditation and centering with gentle movement and breath work. Using the rhythm and flow of prana to initiate movement in the body, we enhance energy flow and a steady state of mine. This is followed by a number of floor poses. The class concludes with a guided relaxation and a short meditation. Be curious about your own body and really feel each movement and breath. Monday 5.30 pm (stronger practice) Saturday 9am (gentle practice)
This is a multi-level flowing practice that focuses on a specific season. We identify and focus on specific chakras using mantra, breath, alignment and Kundalini Yoga sequences to strengthen all the systems of the body. Tuesdays at 5.30-6.45pm
Reconnect with your body and create space and peace of mind. The class begins with classical Hatha yoga postures sequenced with a different focus each week. We follow this with Salutes to the Sun and finish with a short pranayama (breathing) practice and meditation. You will leave the class feeling lighter, happier, refreshed and connected to yourself.
Yoga for 50+
You are never too old for yoga! These classes are interactive, safe and with no pressure to push your body into positions that are uncomfortable. Modifications to postures will be given to accommodate any specific difficulties. If you’ve felt you would like to try yoga but are put off by the thought of being surrounded by young, flexible bodies, this is the class for you!
Come and unwind after a your busy week and deeply relax and get energised for your weekend. Yoga Nidra is a 35-40min practice of conscious deep relaxation which calms your mind and nervous system, and energises your body. When practiced properly, 20min of Yoga Nidra is said to be equivalent to 2 hours of deep sleep. No previous experience is necessary, all you need is a desire to relax. Friday 5.30-6.45pm
Experience the place of peace and quiet within yourself, whilst inviting a feeling of ease and lightness into your body. Yin Yoga targets the body’s connective tissue rather than the muscle.The practice of Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to the dynamic (yang) styles of yoga and the antidote to the stresses of a busy life.Come along and experience the magic of Yin. This is yoga for absolutely everybody!
This class is taught by Monika who has more than 10 years of experience in teaching holistic yoga for pregnancy. She empowers women to trust their bodies and natural ability to birth. In this class you can connect with other prenatal women while tuning into your own breath, body and your baby. We focus on opening the hips, relieving tension in the shoulder mantle, creating familiarity with conscious breathing and vocal toning and cultivating awareness of the muscles involved in natural birth. The class finishes with 20 min relaxation.
If you are new to yoga, or would like to reconnect to the foundations, this is the course for you. Within the 6 weeks you will learn basic yoga postures, correct breathing and pranayama techniques, increase your flexibility and fitness as well as ability to relax and reconnect to your inner peace. Pilates is a mind body exercise programme that focuses on strengthening and lengthening the muscles. The focus is on creating a balanced body and a strong abdominal core using breath and mindful movement. It is a no impact exercise that uses your own body weight for resistance training. Props such as the foam roller, the pilates circle and the rubber bands are occasionally used to add challenge and variety. Tuesdays 8.30-9.30am and Thursdays 9-10am. Yoga in Wadestown
Come and join us in our weekly class on Tuesdays 6.30-7.45pm at St, Lukes Church Hall, at 34 Pitt Street Wadestown with Monika. Yoga classes are suitable for all levels and are done in lovely new, clean and well heated hall. The classes cover short relaxation, classical hatha yoga postures, Sun Salutations and short meditation at the end. Each week the class has a slightly different focus such as shoulders, hips, feet, pelvic, spine twist finished with rounds of Sun salutations to stretch the whole body. If you are looking for a nice class to unwind after work and in the same time do something good for your body. Come along. Please bring a mat and blanket (or at least a blanket if you d not have a mat). Cost $20 drop in or $180 for 10 classes. No booking required just come along.
